# Welcome to the Twelve Saints Codex! --- ![[12SaintsV1C_square.png | 350]] This codex is a dynamic encyclopedia for the Metal Cathedral comic series *[[Twelve Saints]]* written by Paracelsus. # Synopsis --- The [[Old Elmany|Elman Kingdom]] was once the wealthiest country on the continent of [[Kedavaara]]. But that wealth came at a steep cost to their social fabric, and a reckoning was in store for the royal family in the form of a rebellion that split the country in half: leaving the monarchy intact in the north but creating a socialist republic in the south. Today, the [[Ciselmany|Royal Kingdom of Ciselmany]] and the [[Transelmany|Transelman People's Republic]] share a [[Political Status of Kedavaara (664 AL — present)|fragile peace]]; one complicated by their respective alliances: the capricious [[Ankylosante|Ankylan Federation]] in the west-- hell-bent on Transelmany's destruction, and the bellicose [[Velsh Union]] to the east-- equally committed to the total defeat of all monarchic rule. [[Zeila Newton]] is a student from Transelmany with a lifelong admiration for Marie Adonai, Transelmany's Saint of Light. Zeila dreams of one day succeeding her as the country's future leader, but to do so she must join the [[Transelman Council of Saints|Council of Saints]]: open only to the highest-ranking members of the [[Transelman Church of Saints|Transelman Church]] that governs the republic. Does she have what it takes to become a Saint? And will the hostile powers that threaten her country's survival ultimately succeed?
