It comprises seventeen telayas (federal subjects) that are largely free to dictate their local affairs with a high degree of autonomy. Their seat of power is in Mescratenso, far on the eastern coast. Their policy of non-intervention in local affairs has allowed numerous factions to spring up in certain geographic regions of the giant country, allowing certain strains of political thought to take hold, especially the further away from the eastern capital region one travels.
