![[12SaintsC1.jpg | 350]] *Twelve Saints #1 cover by Paracelsus.* ***One More Day*** is the first issue of the *Twelve Saints* comic series. ## Quick Facts --- | Credits | ![[12SaintsN1P0.jpg \| 400]] | | ------- | ---------------------------- | | Title | One More Day | | Pages | 30 | | Arc | Apostle Exams | | Next | [[Twelve Saints No. 2]] | ## Summary --- In 658 AL, [[Sofie Adonai]] is crowned as Queen of the [[Old Elmany|Royal Elman Kingdom]]. She reveals that seven years prior, her older sister [[Marie Adonai]] joined a rebellion against the now-dead King. Rather than fight a bloody war with the rebels, Adonai decided to sign an agreement with them splitting the country in two. In the present day (688 AL), [[Zeila Newton]] wakes up in Sylens, the capital of [[Transelmany]]. A meeting between the Twelve Saints is taking place at Lumen's Crucible, the Church of Light Headquarters. They discuss preparations for the upcoming [[Apostle Exams]]. Zeila discusses the exams with her parents, who approve of her participation but stress that she has other options than joining the [[Transelman Church of Saints]]. She leaves to study at the city's library, but not before meeting [[Isaac]], Saint of Darkness. They have a short conversation where he cautions against trespassing on Lumen's Crucible too casually. At Hadrian's Café, Saints [[Juno Soleil]] and [[Alice d'Arnaud]] catch up over tea. Soleil shares anxieties over her performance as a Saint of a foreign Church, having been an Apostle in the [[Church of Lightning]] and not the [[Church of Fire]] she now leads. D'Arnaud asks about the previous Saint of Fire, inquiring about his family. Soleil says she has a daughter she hasn't had any contact with. The issue ends with a girl training in a thick forest, having charred several nearby trees. She is heavily implied to be the previous Fire Saint's daughter. ## Datapage --- ![[12SaintsN1P13.dr.png | 350]] ### DECLASSIFIED INFORMATION: ENTRY 276: COUNCIL OF SAINTS `THE SUPREME AUTHORITY OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF TRANSELMANY.` `A TWELVE-PERSON LEGISLATIVE CHAMBER COMPRISED OF THE HIGHEST RANKING` `APOSTLES FROM THE CHURCHES OF EACH TRANSELMAN DIOCESE: THE SAINTS.` `UNLIKE THE PRECEDING RANKS WITHIN THE CHURCH WHICH ARE EARNED THROUGH` `WORKS, THE RANK OF SAINT CAN ONLY BE ATTAINED THROUGH CANONIZATION BY WAY OF A` `COUNCIL VOTE.
