![[green_ad_banner.bmp| 350]] ## Overview --- The Green Autonomous Diocese (known simply as the Green) was the name given to the formerly independent nation of the Green when it voluntarily joined Yemisi Fayowa’s [[Transelmany|Transelman People's Republic]]. Prior to that, it had been a vassal of [[Old Elmany|Elmany]] with no sovereignty or self-determination in practice. It is the oldest continuously inhabited region on the continent, having existed at least 300 years before the arrival of Lumens. The Church of the Green is headquartered in the diocese's capital, Verdant Levin. *The Green* is also the name of an ancient philosophy that once had believers all over the world, being the most dominant belief system. But the rise of Elman hagioism and the belief in the Lord of Light rendered their ecotheism heretic, and they began to be persecuted. People born with an unusually strong connection to the Green manifest the power of [[Flux|Floration]], which in addition to modest control of plant life at the most basic level, also grants freedom from all natural illnesses and toxins. This means the blood of Floration users is highly valuable as a medicinal substance, and the republic requisits regular donation from its practitioners, in return for an increased level of local autonomy for the Green. Thanks to this autonomy, its terrain is the most lush and most extensively conserved rainforest in all of [[Kedavaara]], boasting the greatest number of endemic animal species. For the same reason, tourism is virtually nonexistent, as foreign visitation is highly restricted. That increased autonomy is also the reason for its unique emblem, taking on a triangular shape and featuring the symbol of the green above the reversed crown, instead of the uniform iconography other dioceses have. The leaf symbol is the insignia of Floration, the name given by Transelmany to (the rare, but still occurent) alteration of Green flux— though practitioners of Floration who are native to the Green do not have a specific name for the practice. ![[green_icon.bmp| 350]] Today, the Green is secure and prosperous, and its citizens have the right to travel freely within Transelmany; but there are still some who would argue that much like under the monarchy, it remains a vassal of the [[Hagioism|Hagioist]] state, with no sovereignty or self-determination.
