*Curie at the 24th Apostle Exams in 688 AL.* ## Bio --- Nina Lin (born 11 Karpaji 668 AL), known simply as Curie, is a [[Transelmany|Transelman]] [[Apostles of the Transelman Church of Saints|Bishop]] in the [[Dioceses of Transelmany|Church of Darkness]]. Curie was born to House Lin, a former noble family in the Lake District. Despite their opposition to [[Hagioism]], they chose to remain in Transelmany after the [[History of Transelmany — Foundation & Protracted Rebellion (648-658 AL)|Protracted Rebellion]] and saw their vast wealth redistributed under [[Yemisi Fayowa|Saint Fayowa]]’s aggressive land reforms. When Curie developed an unprecedented connection to the [[Flux]] as a child, her parents deemed it heretical and raised her with prejudice. Seeing joining the [[Transelman Church of Saints|Transelman Church]] as her only escape, Curie ran away to the Church of Poles on her 14th birthday in 682 AL to participate in the 19th [[Apostle Exams]] that would soon be held there; in the process abandoning her birth name entirely and adopting the mononym Curie. Winning the Apostle Exams granted Curie the right to join any Church of her choosing, but unbeknownst to her the Churches also reserved the right to reject her choice. As radical as Transelmany’s outlook on the Flux is, many Saints still feared the unknown, as she learned when the Saint of Water [[Alice d'Arnaud]] vetoed her choice. Dark Saint [[Isaac]] saw things differently, and offered Curie a place in his Church, the only one to do so.
